I'm starting to get very worried about the powerplay being run by Therrien. Since November 1st it has scored 9 goals in 64 opportunities (14.1%).

It's a concern. That forces you to win every game at 5-on-5 and for the PK to remain as hot as it has been.

And if some of the skill guys could get some"easy" points on the PP, they might feel more relaxed and be more likely to score 5on5. So far JVR, Hayes, Farabee and Frost have 2 PPP combined.

But the PK has been incredibly fun to watch this season.

bill any idea how the 2 goalies in Reading are playing? Do you see one getting promoted at all anytime soon?

Ustimenko is coming along nicely, although there have been some ups and downs. Sandström dealt with a slow start and then an injury but has returned.

They are not even getting chances to the front of the net. They have to find a way to get JVR more pucks in front

I wish the next cba would include a better way forward on public information on player injuries.

I doubt that either the owners or the players association have any interest in any change on the issue though.

With the marriage between sports betting and the NHL, I'm guessing full disclosure is coming soon.

not that he is on here but Carcillo has been going after the NHL for head issues and that's fine. they and the AHL are very much a problem as you can tell with some of the disciplinary decisions but honestly when will he take the players to task? when are the players going to start respecting each other and stop with the dangerous hits?

There's already a massive difference between head hits now and 20-30 years ago.

oh absolutely. remember the hit on Kariya? and he came back and played even tho you know he probably shouldn't have. Even Richards' hit on Booth. my point is more that a lot of the onus is on the players to stop with the dirty hits.

How many games did the paramedics get for dropping Modano on the stretcher? That's a lifetime ban right there.

Terrible news about Oskar Lindblom...

Per the Flyers Twitter account, Oskar was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma today, and will be out for the remainder of the season.

On the bright side, I've read that this cancer is highly curable.

All the best to Oskar in his fight. Hope to see him back in good health and doing the things he loves soon!

There are only 225 cases of Ewing's Sarcoma in the US per year. Poor Oskar

Hopefully no one will be crass enough to make this news into part of a narrative about the "suffering" of Flyer fans, when a 23 year old is fighting cancer.
